Day 3 - The Floriade Horticultural Expo and Cologne, GermanyArrive in Düsseldorf this morning and take a motorcoach to Venlo, where you will have the unique opportunity to visit the Floriade World Horticultural Expo. Bringing together more than 100 exhibitors from dozens of countries, the Floriade Expo grounds will feature five themed zones connected by wooded areas. Each of the zones contains its own horticultural exhibits, cultural attractions, activities, restaurant, music, dance and theatrical performances. Late this afternoon, travel to Cologne, where your ship is now docked. Enjoy a guided walking tour through the old part of the city and a visit to the fabled 13th-century Gothic cathedral. Day 4 - Discover charming RüdesheimThis morning, admire the stunning beauty of the Rhine castles and legendary Lorelei Rock as you cruise through the spectacular Rhine Gorge. After lunch, arrive in Rüdesheim, where you will enjoy an afternoon wine tasting with a local vintner. Explore the Drosselgasse, a narrow alley lined with wine taverns and restaurants during your free time. In the evening, visit Siegfried's Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum, which houses a fascinating collection of robotic and self-playing musical instruments from the 18th-20th centuries. Day 5 - Ashore in MainzWe arrive this morning in Mainz, where you’ll have your choice of included sightseeing. You can choose a walking tour of beautiful Mainz, where you will see the famous Gutenberg Museum, home of the world’s first printed bible. In the alternative, chose an excursion to Heidelberg, Germany’s oldest university town. You will visit the red-walled Heidelberg Castle, the Great Vat and also take a walking tour of Old Heidelberg. Tonight, the ship cruises to Koblenz, which is situated at the confluence of the Mosel and Rhine rivers. Meals B,L,D
Day 6 - Cruising to CochemThis afternoon, your ship arrives in picturesque Cochem, located amidst the steep vineyards and wine villages of the Mosel. You will have your choice of a walking tour and guided visit to the hilltop Reichsburg Castle, featuring spectacular views of the Mosel. In the alternative, you may choose to participate in a guided bike tour of this lovely town (capacity controlled). Meals B,L,D
Day 7 - Explore BernkastelStep ashore in Bernkastel this morning for a vineyard visit and walking tour. Strategically located in the heart of the Mosel, the town boasts over 500 years of documented wine history. Bernkastel features a medieval marketplace and half-timbered homes with steep gables and beautiful town squares with fountains dating back centuries. Above the town stand the ruins of Castle Landshut, the former summer home of the Archbishop of Trier which was destroyed by a fire in the 17th-century. You will also enjoy wine tasting with a local vintner. This afternoon, your ship cruises to Luxembourg. Meals B,L,D
Day 8 - Arrive Luxembourg and journey to ParisAfter disembarking this morning, you will have a panoramic transfer to the capital of the Grand Duchy. See the Luxembourg American Cemetery and Memorial, final resting place of General George S. Patton, Jr. You will enjoy a walking tour of Luxembourg, and then have some free time for lunch on your own before boarding a TGV high-speed train to Paris. Arrive in the mid-afternoon and check in to your hotel. Meals B
Day 9 - The sights of ParisEnjoy Paris’ famous sights during this morning’s guided tour. Visit Notre Dame Cathedral, pass the Louvre Museum, the commemorative Arc de Triomphe, the Opéra, La Madeleine, Les Champs Elysées and much more.
