Day 2 - Explore Beijing with your private car, driver and guide
With your own personal guide, you’ll visit Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City #WHS#, the Panda Hall at Beijing Zoo, and the Temple of Heaven #WHS#. Meals B,L
Day 3 - Excursion to the Great Wall #WHS#
Thrill to the experience of walking atop the Great Wall at Badaling, one of the best preserved and most spectacular sections of this ancient structure. Then sit down to lunch at The Commune by the Great Wall, with unbeatable views over the Wall as it stretches across the Shuiguan Mountains. Back in the city, see the iconic Olympic venues and then explore by rickshaw through one of Beijing’s few remaining hutong neighborhoods. Meals B,L
Day 4 - Visit the Summer Palace and fly to Xian
Begin your day with a private Tai Chi class in the tranquil gardens of your hotel and then visit the lovely Summer Palace #WHS#, erstwhile retreat of China’s Imperial families. Fly to Xian and transfer to the 5-star Shangri-La Hotel. Meals B,L
Day 5 - The amazing Terra Cotta Army #WHS#
Spend time at the excavation site of China’s greatest archaeological discovery and visit the Terra Cotta Museum. After lunch, our private car and driver are at your disposal to explore as you wish. Meals B,L
Day 6 - Touch Antiquity and on to Guilin
Touch Antiquity with museum curators, examining and handling priceless ancient artifacts. Savor Xian’s famous dumplings at lunch and then fly to Guilin where you’ll be transferred by private car to the Shangri-La Hotel. Meals B,L
Day 7 - Bamboo rafting in Guilin
Marvel at Guilin’s ethereal landscapes as you voyage on a bamboo raft down the gentle Yulong, a particularly scenic tributary of the Li River. Then step ashore and explore on foot or by bicycle alongside emerald green rice paddies and visit with a farmer and his family. This evening, savor the fine cuisine of southern China at Zhoucheng Restaurant, a local favorite, and then stroll along the shores of City Lake where families gather to enjoy music, chess and Mah Jong. Day 8 - Fly to Shanghai
Fly to Shanghai and transfer to the Shangri-La Hotel. Meals B
Day 9 - Sightseeing... Shanghai style!
Your private tour takes you along the historic waterfront Bund and through the highly regarded collections of the Shanghai Museum. Stroll in Yu Yuan Garden, explore the classic architecture and hip boutiques of Xintiandi Street and sit down to a delightful Dim Sum lunch. Meals B,L
Day 10 - Farewell to Shanghai
Your private car and driver await this morning to drive you to the airport. Meals B
