Day 1 - Welcome to Prague, Czech Republic!
Check in to your deluxe hotel here in the heart of one of Europe’s loveliest cities.

Day 2 - Explore the city with our in-the-know guide
After breakfast, your engaging guide is waiting to lead you on a fascinating morning tour of the city he loves and knows so well. You’ll see historic Wenceslas Square and visit the 1,000-year-old Hradcany Castle. Walk across the oft-photographed Charles Bridge, built by King Charles IV in the 14th century, and spend time in Old Market Square – graced with splendidly-preserved Gothic and Baroque architecture including the twin-spired Tyn Cathedral. Day 3 - At leisure in Prague
Take advantage of this free day and your hotel’s heart-of-it-all location to step out and explore at your own pace. Prague is a friendly city with so much to see and do! Meals B

Day 4 - Tour Regensburg and board your luxury river ship
This morning, depart Prague after breakfast and stop in Regensburg, for a guided tour of one of Germany’s best preserved medieval cities. After lunch on your own, continue your drive to the charming 1200-year old Bavarian town of Vilshofen, set at the confluence of the Vils and Danube rivers. Here, docked in the center of town, your luxurious ship awaits you. Later this afternoon, join your fellow passengers as we celebrate “Oktoberfest” in Vilshofen. Relax at congenial, communal-style tables and sample traditional beers as you enjoy Bavarian folk music, song and dance. Meals B,D

Day 5 - From Vilshofen to Passau
You’ll have free time this morning to explore Vilshofen’s beautiful old town at your own pace before your ship sets sail for Passau, the beginning of your week-long Danube River cruise! Upon arrival in this 2,000-year-old fairytale city, you’ll have your choice of two different excursions. The first option is a walking tour of Passau, noted for its Gothic and Italian Baroque architecture. Walk the cobblestone streets of Old Town and admire the city fortifications and St. Stephan’s Cathedral, home to the largest cathedral organ in the world. As an alternative, experience this majestic city on a guided bike tour along the Inn River to Weinstein (capacity controlled). Meals B,L,D

Day 6 - Ashore in Linz, Austria
This morning the ship arrives in Linz, the second largest city in Austria. Your walking tour guides you along the Landstrasse, to the city’s Main Square where you will see St. Mary’s Cathedral, the Marian Column, the Landes Theatre and St. Martin’s Church, the oldest church in Austria. Following lunch onboard, you’ll be able to choose your afternoon excursion from among three delightful offerings: The first option is a visit to the scenic “Salzkammergut” region, the Austrian Lake District, including the historic town of Gmunden, set on the shores of beautiful Lake Traunsee. The second option is an excursion to Cesky Krumlov, a wonderfully preserved medieval town, nestled in the hills just over the Austrian-Czech border. The third choice is an excursion to Salzburg, famous as the birthplace of Amadeus Mozart and the setting for the classic film, The Sound of Music. Meals B,L,D

Day 7 - Through the Wachau Valley to Melk and Dürnstein
Cruise through the narrow Strudengau this morning to Melk for a guided tour of its magnificent Benedictine Abbey, one of the larges Baroque monasteries in all of Europe. Return to ship and continue your scenic cruising through the beautiful Wachau valley to Krems, where you will be able to choose your afternoon excursion. The first options is a motor coach ride to Dürnstein, where you will take a walking tour of the town’s medieval cobblestone streets, passing by 16th-century homes and wine taverns. Marvel at the magnificent blue facade of the Baroque Stiftskirche and the ruins of a castle high above town. As an alternative, set out on a guided bike tour from Krems to Dürnstein and back (capacity controlled). After dinner onboard this evening, we’ve arranged for a special wine tasting at a local winery. Sample several regional wines, presented along with fresh-baked bread, knowledgeable hosts, and plenty of laughter. Meals B,L,D

Day 8 - Explore Vienna
During this morning’s guided sightseeing through the handsome streets of Vienna, you will see the impressive Vienna Opera House, the majestic Ringstrasse, and historic St. Stephen’s Cathedral. The afternoon is free to continue exploring at your own pace or to take an optional tour to the opulent Schönbrunn Palace. Tonight, you will have the opportunity to enjoy an optional concert excursion featuring the music of Strauss and Mozart. The ship moors in Vienna overnight. Meals B,L,D

Day 9 - A choice of sightseeing in Bratislava
Enjoy a leisurely and relaxing morning of scenic cruising en route to Bratislava. Upon arrival in the Slovakian capital, set out on the included sightseeing tour of your choice. You can join a guided walking tour which will include the Old Town Hall, Mirbach Palace and St. Martin’s Cathedral. In the alternative, our tour of “Communist-Era Bratislava” features architectural landmarks such as the Radio Building, Liberty Square and Soviet War Memorial. The remainder of the day is free to explore on your own. Meals B,L,D

Day 10 - Welcome to Budapest, Hungary
This morning, your sightseeing tour takes you to historic Buda Castle from where you can enjoy a splendid view of the twin cities of Buda and Pest spread over both banks of the Danube. Your tour also features the distinctive Fisherman's Bastion, the Royal Palace, historic St. Stephen's Basilica, the impressive Heroes’ Square and more. After this evening’s Farewell Dinner, your ship will sail a special “Illuminations Cruise” past the illuminated river front of Budapest. Meals B,L,D

Day 11 - Depart Budapest
