Dom HenriqueHotel Class: First Class
Conveniently located in the heart of Porto,the Dom Henry Hotel is close to the City Hall and a short walk to shopping areas, monuments and attractions. Day 2 - Explore Porto
With 1,000 years of history, Porto is renowned for its historic monuments. But it’s also a lively, vibrant and thriving city – the second largest in Portugal. With our expert guide leading the way, your private tour of the city includes the Cathedral, built in the 12th century, and the Stock Exchange Palace, a Baroque gem of the 18th century. Behind the simple, unadorned 15th century façade of Santa Clara Church, you’ll marvel at the ornate interior. This Rococo and Baroque masterpiece is an exceptional example of Portuguese woodwork and gilding from the 17th century. Meals B
Day 3 - Porto / Lisbon
Your car and driver will escort you to the station this morning for your rail journey south along the Atlantic coast. Upon arrival in Lisbon, you’ll be greeted and taken to your hotel by private car. Settle-in to your comfortable guestroom at the first class Hotel Mundial or the luxurious Sofitel Liberdade and enjoy the balance of the day at leisure. Meals B
Day 4 - Explore Lisbon
Portugal’s exciting capital was the first truly ‘World City’. After the epic journeys of Vasco de Gama and many other explorers, historic Lisbon was the capital of an empire that stretched across the globe, from South America (Brazil) to China (Macau) and India (Goa). Today your personal guide will lead you on a private tour through this fascinating city beginning at Säo Jorge’s Castle, visible from almost anywhere in Lisbon. The foundations here date to the 6th century, but across Portugal’s dramatic history it has been fortified by Romans, Visigoths and Moors. You’ll see the Monument to the Discoveries and visit Belém Tower. Built in 1515 as a fortress to guard Lisbon’s harbor, the Belém Tower#WHS# was the starting point for many of the world’s greatest explorers during the Age of Discovery. Today, it’s become an iconic symbol of the country. After your sightseeing tour, the balance of your day is free. Meals B
