The Sanchiri has two sets of housing options: 12 unique cabins - each with its own lookout point – and 12 new, modernized rooms; all are equipped with hot water.

Savegre Mountain Lodge

The Savegre Mountain Hotel, also known as Cabinas Chacón, is located in a small community in the Talamanca mountains in the midst of a precious ecosystem. Here you will find a deep cloud forest filled with massive oaks and other native species. The woods serve as a sanctuary for a large number of mammals and innumerable species of insects, amphibians, amazing plants and colorful birds, a paradise for birdwatchers. Our rooms are equipped with heating systems or fireplace, private bath with hot water, comfortable beds, and all the amenities from first class service.
 
Day 1 - Arenal
Check-in to your first class hotel, with great views of the Arenal Volcano. Meals D Arenal Paraiso

Day 2 - Arenal Hot Springs
Relax in the soothing hot spring pools of your resort before setting forth to explore life and culture here in central Costa Rica. Visit a historic, working hacienda and a local school and then meet with the family of Don Aguinaldo, a local farmer. This afternoon, explore and shop in the charming town of Fortuna. Meals B

Day 3 - Arenal / La Paz Waterfall / San Jose / Cartago
Visit the La Paz Waterfalls and Gardens. Explore rainforest trails that wind past stunning waterfalls and visit the Hummingbird Center and Butterfly Observatory, the largest open-air butterfly enclosure in the world. After lunch here at La Paz, drive via San Jose, seeing the opulent 19th century National Theater, to the lush Orosi Valley and your comfortable family-run lodge. Meals B,L,D Sanchiri Lodge

Day 4 - Orosi and Ujarras Valleys /Irazu Volcano
Today’s tour explores nature and history, beginning at the Irazu Volcano. In historic Cartago, founded in 1563 by Juan Vásquez de Coronado, you’ll visit the city market and the Basílica de Nuestra Señora de Los Angeles, an important pilgrimage site founded on the site of an earlier 17th century shrine. Journey through the lush Orosi and Ujarras Valleys en route to your lodge. Meals B,L,D

Day 5 - Cartago / Santa Maria de Dota /San Gerardo
Travel to the coffee-producing regions of Santa Maria de Dota and Tarrazu to learn how the high-altitude micro-climate and fertile volcanic soils contribute to the superior quality of the local coffee crop. Then drive into the cloud forests of the Talamanca Mountains to the Savegre Mountain Lodge and Quetzal Education Research Center, a project in cooperation with Southern Nazarene University in Oklahoma. Check-in and explore the Center’s 1,000-acre private biological reserve with a naturalist guide. Meals B,L,D Savegre Mountain Lodge

Day 6 - Savegre Mountain Lodge
An early morning hike in the cool cloud forest with your naturalist guide is a great opportunity to spot some of the 170 species of resident birds, possibly even the resplendent Quetzal with its brilliant green, red and black plumage. Later, a riverside hike through lush vegetation brings you to the spectacular Savegre Waterfall. Meals B,L,D

Day 7 - San Gerardo de Dota / Sierpe River / Osa Peninsula
Descend from the cloud forest to the Pacific coast and explore by boat through the mangrove swamps of the Sierpe River, home to crocodiles, caimans, birds and monkeys. Your excursion ends in Drake’s Bay on the remote Osa Peninsula. Meals B,L,D Marenco Lodge

Day 8 - A FreeStyle Day Osa Peninsula
Tailor your trip with one of these included tours:

• Caño Island National Park: Features a one-hour boat ride and a naturalist-guided island hike with time for swimming or snorkeling.
• Corcovado National Park: This full day tour includes a guided beach and rainforest hikes.

Day 9 - Osa Peninsula / Rey Curre / Quepos
Travel by boat to Sierpe and then along the Pan American Highway to Rey Curre, a village home to the indigenous Boruca ethnic group, famous for their handcrafted masks and woven textiles. Day 10 - Quepos / Manuel Antonio
A guided morning hike in Manuel Antonio National Park reveals one of Costa Rica’s premier wildlife reserves. Meals B
