HOTEL INFORMATION: Volcano LodgeHotel Class: First Class The Volcano Lodge is located in full view of the Arenal Volcano in Costa Rica. Hotel Villa TournonHotel Class: First Class Located within walking distance of downtown San Jose, the privately-owned Hotel Villa Tournon is close to the national theatre, gold museum and nightlife. The hotel has 80 guest accommodations that include cable television, internet access and air condtioning. The property includes a restaurant, bar and casino, pool and jacuzzi.
Day 1 - San José
Check-in to your centrally-located first class hotel. The balance of the day is at leisure to explore the capital at your own pace. Villa Tournon Day 2 - San José / Pacuare River / Rafting Head out to the Pacuare River to embark on two days of thrilling white water rafting through Class III and IV rapids. Your comfortable lodge on the river’s edge is the original Pacuare - a pioneer in eco-adventure lodging. Meals B,L,D Pacuare Lodge Day 3 - Pacuare River / Rafting / Arenal Today, the Pacuare takes you through virgin rain forest, cascading waterfalls and carved canyons. As you maneuver through the rapids, your guide will point out flora and fauna of the rain forest at the river’s edge. You’ll take time out for lunch ashore and hike to some natural water slides. At the end of this exciting day, you’ll travel by private car to the Ecothermales Hot Springs, where you can soothe your muscles in the natural, mineral-rich geothermal pools. You’ll sleep well tonight at your first class hotel, with views of the Arenal Volcano. Meals B,L,D Volcano Lodge Day 4 - A FreeStyle Day in Arenal Tailor your vacation with the prepaid adventure excursion of your choice: • Horseback riding to La Fortuna Falls: An easy ride to the falls and then a challenging hike to the base of the falls for a swim. • Hanging Bridges: Explore the forest canopy along these aerial bridges. • Hiking old lava flows: Hike through flora and fauna to old lava flows from the volcano. • Penas Blancas River kayaking: A great way to enjoy the beautiful flora and fauna of Costa Rica Meals B Day 5 - Arenal / Canopy Tour / San José Explore the canopy as you traverse the forest via a series of cables and platforms. Experienced guides will help you to spot bird and animal life as you experience the wonders of the forest from this higher vantage point.
