Day 1 - Arrive Jerusalem, Israel
Check-in to the luxurious David Citadel Hotel, located on prestigious King David Street overlooking the domes and towers of the ancient walled city of Jerusalem. Day 2 - Jerusalem – Excursion to Massada & Bethlehem Journey southward by private car this morning for a privately guided tour of Massada#WHS#. Ascend by cable car to the hilltop ruins, where you’ll be riveted as your personal guide recounts the heroic tale of its brave inhabitants. Continue to Bethlehem to visit the Church of the Nativity and return to Jerusalem for a free evening. Meals B Day 3 - Explore Jerusalem A holy city for each of the world’s three major religions – Judaism, Christianity, and Islam – Jerusalem#WHS# occupies a unique place in the world. Today’s full day private sightseeing includes the Temple Mount, Western Wall, and Mount of Olives. Walk along the Via Dolorosa and tour the Davidson Center, where advanced visualization technology reveals the city’s glorious past. Most impressive, perhaps, is a 3-dimensional virtual reconstruction of the Temple, based upon ancient writings and excavations. Meals B Day 4 - Jerusalem / Caesarea / Acre / Tiberias Journey toward the coast this morning to tour the Roman and Byzantine ruins of Caesarea, originally built by Herod the Great in honor of Augustus Caesar. Continue along the coast to Acre#WHS#, a walled port-city that has been continuously inhabited since Phoenician times! Present-day Acre is typical of a fortified town of the 18th century Ottoman period, but you can also see a amazingly intact remains of an 11th century Crusader town. Arrive Tiberias in the evening and check-in to the deluxe Galei Kinnereth Hotel, set on an expansive lawn on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. Meals B, D Day 5 - Tiberias / Dead Sea, Jordan Ascend to the Shalom Observation Point for captivating views of the Golan Heights and Mt. Beatitudes. Then cross the Allenby Bridge into Jordan and continue by private car to your deluxe resort on the Dead Sea. Meals B Day 7 - Explore Petra The wealth, glory and power of the ancient Nabatean Kingdom unfold today as you explore with your private guide through this astounding site. The entire city of Petra – amazingly preserved over the centuries – is carved into the sides of a deep gorge, the entrance through a narrow opening called the Siq. As you enter this legendary ‘Lost City’ from between the 100-foot cliffs of the Siq, a breathtaking vista unfolds: Temples, tombs, and dwellings chiseled out of the solid, rose-hued stone. Meals B Day 8 - Petra / Wadi Rum / Amman Depart Petra this morning and journey into the amazing desert landscapes of Wadi Rum. Explore by jeep in this remote region, where sandstone and granite mountains rise, sheer-sided, from wide sandy valleys to reach heights of 4,000 feet and more. For many visitors, this land is associated with the 1962 film, Lawrence of Arabia – the Peter O’Toole epic which recounted the dramatic exploits of the Englishman who fought alongside King Faisal during the Arab Revolt of 1917.
