Day 1 - Lhasa, Tibet

Day 2 - Explore Lhasa – Go Inside Tibet
Join your personal guide this morning to explore Norbulinka, the tranquil summer palace of the Dalai Lamas. Then Go Inside Tibet at the beautiful Sera Monastery. This exclusive General Tours experience brings you behind the scenes at the Monastery, with resident Buddhist monks leading the way through their living quarters. Day 3 - Lhasa – Potala Palace
Today’s touring deepens your understanding and appreciation of life, culture, and spirituality here in Tibet. Visit the Potala Palace#WHS#, former residence of the Dalai Lama. Explore the lively Barkhor Market and the nearby Jokhang Monastery, a center of Buddhist pilgrimage for centuries. Meals B,L

Day 4 - Lhasa / Board the Luxury Tangula Train / Naqu
Your private car and driver will escort you to the rail station today to step aboard the new Tangula Train. Your butler is on-hand to assist as you settle in to your luxurious suite. Later, gather with fellow travelers in the Scenic Car or in the sanctuary of your suite as the train departs for Naqu, where a festive Tibetan Folk Gala has been specially arranged for your pleasure and enrichment. Dinner this evening will be served in the single-seating Dining Car. Meals B,L,D

Day 5 - Cuono Lake / Tangula / Yuzhufeng
Step-off train this morning and gaze upon crystal-clear Cuono Lake, the highest freshwater lake in the world and regarded as sacred by the Tibetans. Re-board and continue your spectacular journey into the mighty Tangula Pass. At more than 16,000 feet above sea-level, this is the highest train station on Earth. You’ll have ample opportunity to marvel at the stunning panorama of the Tangula Range, awe-inspiring glacial mountains that surround local nomads herding yak over vast plains. In the afternoon, another platform stop is made in Yuzhufeng, where you’ll have breathtaking views of the Southern Himalayas, including Yuzhu Mountain, the snow-capped centerpiece of the towering Kunlun Mountain Range. Enjoy another elegant dinner onboard and the camaraderie of your fellow travelers as the Tangula Train speeds on toward Xining. Meals B,L,D

Day 6 - Bird Island or Xining
During the Summer, you’ll enjoy a morning visit to scenic Bird Island. The Winter Schedule features an off-train excursion to the ancient Silk Road city of Xining. In the afternoon, you continue your luxury rail journey toward Beijing. Meals B,L,D

Day 7 - Arrive Beijing
The Tangula Train arrives this afternoon in the bustling capital. You’ll be greeted at the Rail Station by your personal guide and escorted by private car to the legendary Peninsula Hotel, a luxury landmark just steps away from the Forbidden City. Meals B,L

Day 8 - Discover Beijing
Your full-day private sightseeing tour explores China’s past and present, from the most treasured ancient sites to the iconic symbols of 21st century Beijing. Discover the landscaped grounds, tranquil waterways and garden pavilions of the Summer Palace#WHS#, once the favored retreat of Ming Dynasty emperors. Day 9 - Beijing – Great Wall & Ming Tombs Excursion
A thrilling day unfolds as you travel by private car into the rugged mountain landscapes north of Beijing, where the Great Wall#WHS# stretches onward for thousands of miles. Walk atop this ancient fortification and then visit the Ming Tombs#WHS#, burial site of 13 Chinese Emperors. Stroll along the statue-lined Sacred Way and tour Changling, greatest of these ancient burial sites. Meals B,L
