Tropical Business HotelHotel Class: Deluxe The Tropical Business Hotel is located inside the complex of the Tropical Manaus Eco Resort Experience, in the middle of the Amazon Forest on the Negro River. The building has 220 apartments on 16 floors, a private swimming pool, solarium and outdoor area for rest. The hotel also has a game room, cyber-café, restaurant and heliport. All apartments are equipped with cable TV, air-conditioning, hair dryer, safety box, refrigerator, direct dialing telephones, and an excellent view of the river.
Day 1 - Manaus
Surrounded by miles of Amazon rainforest in every direction, Manaus captures the spirit of a true frontier town - blended with a colorful past when turn-of-the-century rubber barons made their fortunes and commissioned ornate buildings like the Amazon Theater and the Customs House. Upon arrival, check-in to your resort hotel, the Tropical Manaus. Day 2 - Manaus / Amazon Cruise Embarkation Join your private guide after breakfast to explore this lively town. You’ll visit the colorful local market and see the Amazon Theater, an extravagant opera house built in 1896 for the pleasure of the hundred or so rubber barons’ families that controlled the local economy at the turn-of-the-century. In the afternoon, we’ll take you to the Manaus Port to board your luxurious adventure ship, the M/V Iberostar. Enjoy a cocktail onboard and a briefing as you set sail up the Ariau River, a tributary of the Rio Negro. Tonight’s welcome dinner is followed by live music in the salon. Meals B,D Day 3 - Amazon Cruising Today’s highlights include trekking and a photo safari in the Manacapuru region, and boat excursions through Igarapes and Igapos. Lunch onboard is followed by an informative lecture planned to enrich your explorations here in the Amazon. Later in the afternoon, you can go piranha fishing or bird watching in Lago de Rei. This evening after dinner, join our caiman-spotting excursion or relax onboard with live musical entertainment. Meals B,L,D Day 4 - Amazon Cruising Continue your exploration of this unique eco-system with a second day of naturalist-guided excursions. There will be more opportunities for bird watching, trekking, photo safaris, and caiman spotting. Back onboard, enjoy a farewell dinner and a colorful folkloric show. Meals B,L,D Day 5 - Amazon Cruising / Manaus Disembarkation / Rio de Janeiro As your ship charts a course back to Manaus, you’ll cruise the amazing Meeting of the Waters, where the black currents of the Rio Negro join the brown waters of the Amazon and flow together for miles without mixing. You’ll disembark in the morning for your short flight to Rio where you’ll be met and escorted to the deluxe Sofitel Hotel, with an unbeatable location across from Copacabana Beach and just steps away from Ipanema. It’s the best of Rio at your doorstep! Meals B Day 6 - A FreeStyle Day in Rio Our unique FreeStyle Day allows you to customize your Rio stay with the included excursion of your choice: • City Tour & Sugarloaf: Your morning begins with the city’s highlights, including the Metropolitan Cathedral, Municipal Theater, and the Sambodromo, used by the Samba schools of Rio during Carnival,. Then ascend by two-stage cable car to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain, for breathtaking views of Rio, a stunning tableau of city, sea, mountain and sky. • Mt. Corcovado & the Beaches of Rio: Over Rio stands the statue of Christ the Redeemer – arms spread as if protecting the city below. Ascend 2,400 feet by cogwheel train to the top of Mt. Corcovado to visit this imposing 100-foot tall landmark and enjoy 360° views of the city. You’ll return to your hotel via the scenic Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon and then past some of the beautiful beaches for which Rio is so renowned. Meals B Day 7 - Rio de Janeiro Enjoy a full day free to relax or explore at your own pace. Tonight, we’ll take you to one of our favorite Rio nightspots for a Brazilian barbecue dinner and Samba show. Meals B,D Day 8 - Rio de Janeiro Departure Your tour with us ends after breakfast.
