Step aboard your elegant river ship in Luxembourg to begin your cruise on three of Europe’s most picturesque waterways. Visit Trier, the oldest city in Germany, and continue through the meandering Mosel River Valley, famous for its steep vineyard-clad slopes. Visit the charming towns of Bernkastel and Cochem, sampling Mosel vintages along the way. Then cruise the most beautiful stretch of the Rhine River, dotted with picturesque castles from Koblenz to Rüdesheim. Enter the Main River and stop at the medieval towns of Miltenberg, Wertheim and Bamberg before cruising through the Main-Danube Canal to historic Nuremberg.

Day 1 - Welcome aboard in Luxembourg
Your elegant river ship awaits you here in Remich, Luxembourg! After a warm shipboard welcome, settle in to your spacious outside cabin and perhaps take some time to become acquainted with your new home for the week. Later this evening, gather with your fellow passengers for a Welcome Dinner in the ship’s elegant restaurant. Meals B,D

Day 2 - Ashore in Trier and Bernkastel
After breakfast, your ship arrives in charming Trier, Germany’s oldest city. On your guided tour, you will see the ancient Roman amphitheater and baths, the Basilica of Constantine and the Porta Nigra Gate, dating back to 180 A.D. Continue to Bernkastel in the heart of the fertile Mosel wine-producing region. Bernkastel boasts over 500 years of documented wine history. Step ashore in the late afternoon for a vineyard visit and wine tasting, an opportunity to sample several different vintages from the celebrated Mosel valley. After dinner, enjoy a guided walking tour through Bernkastel’s Old Town, graced with fine medieval and Renaissance buildings. Meals B,L,D

Day 3 - Through the magnificent Rhine Gorge
Today, you have your choice of a guided excursion to Cochem or Koblenz. In Cochem, you will visit the spectacular hilltop Reichsburg Castle, which offers breathtaking views of the river valley. In the alternative, travel to Koblenz, an historic wine-growing town at the confluence of the Mosel and Rhine rivers. See the Four Towers, the Church of Our Lady, and hear the story behind the Schängel Fountain and City Hall. Later, enjoy scenic cruising through the celebrated Rhine Gorge, the most beautiful stretch of the Rhine, You’ll marvel at castle after castle and see the legendary Lorelei Rock. Arrive in Rüdesheim and visit Siegfried's Mechanical Musical Instrument. Meals B,L,D

Day 4 - Another choice of sightseeing… Mainz or Heidelberg
Today you can join a guided walking tour of beautiful Mainz to see the famous Gutenberg Museum, home to the world’s first printed bible. Then enjoy a lunchtime cruise to Frankfurt, where you will have a walking tour of the city’s medieval section. In the alternative, travel by motor coach to Heidelberg, Germany’s oldest university town. Visit the red-walled Castle, enjoy gorgeous views of the Neckar Valley below, and see the Great Vat, a 49,000-gallon 18th-century wine cask. Later this afternoon, you’ll return to Frankfurt. Meals B,L,D

Day 5 - Ashore in Miltenberg and Wertheim
Arrive in Miltenberg for a walking tour of this delightful old Franconian town, beloved for its narrow cobblestone streets and gabled, half-timbered houses. Return to ship for lunch as your vessel cruises to Freudenberg. This afternoon’s motorcoach excursion takes you to Wertheim, where you will have free time to explore the town on your own before returning to ship for an overnight cruise to Würzburg. A guided bicycle tour from Freudenberg to Wertheim is also available (capacity controlled). Meals B,L,D

Day 6 - From Würzburg to Kitzingen
Step ashore in Würzburg for a guided tour, including the magnificent Residenz Palace and the city’s other major sights. This afternoon, you can take an optional tour along the Romantic Road to medieval Rothenberg to visit its world-famous Christmas Museum. Or relax on board as you cruise through the afternoon to Kitzingen. This evening, the Aulic Council and Wine Queens will welcome you at the Kitzingen pier and escort you to Germany’s oldest wine cellar for a memorable tasting of fine regional wines. Meals B,L,D

Day 7 - The medieval glory of Bamberg
Your ship arrives this afternoon in Bamberg, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. On your guided walking tour along the winding streets of this finely preserved medieval town, you’ll admire its breathtaking cathedral, charming 18th-century Burgher homes and the Old Town Hall which straddles the river. Take a refreshing break to sample some of Bamberg’s famous smoked beer before returning to ship. This evening, you set sail for Nuremberg, the capital of Franconia. Meals B,L,D

Day 8 - Disembark in Nuremberg
