Day 1 - Welcome to Amman
Check in to the 5-star Kempinski Hotel, ideally located in the heart of Amman. This evening, gather with your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner. Meals D

Day 2 - Explore Amman, past and present
Amman, one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world, is also an energetic 21st century capital. Explore both facets, from the ancient Citadel and the Roman amphitheater built by Marcus Aurelias to the Folklore Museum and a contemporary city art gallery. Then discover the flavors and cultures of Jordan with dinner and a folklore show at the unique Kan Zaman Village. Meals B,D

Day 3 - Deep into the North Jordan Valley
Drive to the Dead Sea where you can swim in the lowest spot on earth. Visit Pella, inhabited for more than 6,000 years, with well-preserved Roman ruins and impressive remnants of its Bronze Age city walls. Then journey to remote Um Qais for a dramatic view of the Sea of Galilee. Called Gedara in the Bible, this rarely-visited site is one of the most significant in Jordan and not to be missed! Meals B,D

Day 4 - Jerash, the Pompeii of the East!
This morning, you and your intimate group of explorers visit Jerash. This is celebrated as the best-preserved provincial Roman city in the world and is fondly referred to as “The Pompeii of the East.” Enter through the imposing triple-arched gateway built to honor Emperor Hadrian and then explore a wealth of ancient sites including the impressive Oval Plaza and the Temple of Zeus. Then continue to Ajlun to visit the 12th century Saracen castle built by one of Saladin’s lieutenants in the campaign against the Crusaders. Return to your hotel in Amman where the balance of your day is at leisure. Meals B,D

Day 5 - Along the King’s Way to Petra
Travel along the King’s Way to Madaba to admire remarkably-preserved Byzantine mosaics including an impressive 6th century mosaic map of the Holy Land. Visit Mt. Nebo, traditional burial site of Moses, for sweeping views over the Jordan Valley and Dead Sea. Then drive through the magnificent scenery of Wadi Mujib and tour the ancient town of Kerak, known for its Crusader castle. Continue on to Petra and check in to the deluxe Mövenpick Hotel, ideally located across from the visitor’s entrance. Meals B,D

Day 6 - Explore ancient Petra #WHS#
Mighty Petra was a strategic link in ancient caravan routes and is still stunningly preserved after nearly 2,000 years. Built by the Nabateans and later abandoned, it was lost to civilization for centuries until its re-discovery by a Swiss adventurer. The entire city is carved into the sides of a deep gorge, and the only entrance is through a narrow opening called the Siq. As your guide leads your small group of adventurers into Petra from between these 100-foot cliffs, a remarkable vista unfolds… Temples, tombs and dwellings chiseled out of the solid, rose-hued stone. Your unhurried full-day guided exploration includes the famous Treasury, the Roman Theater, the Temple of the Winged Lion and numerous other ancient monuments. Meals B,D

Day 7 - Wadi Rum and back to the capital
Depart Petra after breakfast and journey into the desert landscapes of Wadi Rum, immortalized in the epic film, Lawrence of Arabia. Explore by 4WD vehicle in this remote region, where sandstone and granite mountains rise sheer-sided from wide sandy valleys to reach spectacular heights of 4,000 feet and more.

Continue your journey back to Amman and check in to the 5-star Kempinski Hotel . Meals B,D

Day 8 - Farewell, Jordan
Out tour services end this morning after breakfast. Or let our travel experts assist with arrangements to extend your stay in Amman… or anywhere in the Middle East! Meals B
