Day 1 - Moscow, Russia
Check-in to your superior first-class hotel, ideally located on Moscow’s famed Tverskaya Street, close to Red Square, the Kremlin and some of the city’s best shopping. Enjoy dinner at your hotel this evening. Meals D Marriott Tverskaya Hotel

Day 2 - Discover Moscow
Visit Red Square#WHS# to see St. Basil’s Cathedral and the Kremlin Walls. A drive through the city shows you Moscow University, Novodeyvichy Convent#WHS# and the Russian “White House.” Ascend Sparrow Hills for great city views and then explore GO-42, a formerly top-secret Soviet Command Post. Descend nearly 200 feet under the city into this Cold War-era communication center, which would have been a main Soviet command post in the event of global nuclear war! In the afternoon, tour the 15th century Kremlin#WHS# grounds, including the Assumption Cathedral and the Kremlin Armory Museum – the treasure chest of Imperial Russia. Tonight, join your guide for a ride on Moscow’s famously-beautiful Metro and stroll Arbat Street, a favorite destination for city residents. Meals B

Day 3 - Moscow / Overnight Train
Your hotel’s prime location makes it easy to explore at your own pace this morning, maybe a visit to one of the city’s fine museums, like the Tretyakov or Pushkin Galleries. This afternoon, you’ll tour Kolomenskoye#WHS#, one of Russia’s most picturesque old Imperial estates, set on a steep forested bank of the Moscow River. After dinner, transfer to the station to board the legendary Red Arrow overnight train. Settle-in to your comfortable first class compartment and enjoy one of the great rail journeys of the world. Day 4 - Arrive St. Petersburg
Arrive St. Petersburg#WHS# this morning and transfer to your superior first-class hotel, just steps off the city’s grandest boulevard, the renowned Nevsky Prospekt. After a hearty buffet breakfast, you’ll tour the incomparably beautiful city of Peter the Great, including the grand interior of St. Isaac’s Cathedral and Peter and Paul Fortress. After lunch, enjoy free time to venture forth on your own in this lovely city. Meals B,L Novotel City Center

Day 5 - Hermitage & A FreeStyle Afternoon
Tour the famed collection of the Hermitage and have lunch at the restaurant here. Then, enjoy the included excursion of your choice. Meals B,L

• Petrodvorets : Tour the lovely grounds and fountains of Peter the Great’s palace.
• Yusapov Palace : The grand residence of one of Russia’s wealthiest pre-Revolution families, the site of Rasputin’s assassination in 1916.
• Russian Museum : Fine exhibits reveal the history and culture of the Russian peoples.

Day 6 - Catherine Palace
Drive to Pushkin to visit the spectacular Catherine Palace and its famous Amber Room and then explore the bustling Kuznechny Market. Visit the Dostoyevsky Museum, where the great novelist wrote The Brothers Karamazov and enjoy tea with a family we know. Tonight, gather for a champagne toast and farewell dinner. Meals B,L,D
