Day 1 - Beijing

Day 2 - Beijing
Stroll through the courtyards and palaces of the imposing Forbidden City#WHS#, once the exclusive enclave of Ming Dynasty emperors. Your full-day tour also includes the Summer Palace#WHS# and Tiananmen Square – where you meet with a master kite maker and try your hand at this traditional pastime. Meals B,L

Day 3 - Beijing
Experience the thrill of walking on the Great Wall#WHS#, an immense fortification constructed over centuries, and then visit the Ming Tombs#WHS#, burial site of 13 Chinese emperors. We’ll also see Beijing’s remarkable 2008 Olympic sites. Meals B,L

Day 4 - Beijing / Yichang
You’ll board a rickshaw to explore a Hutong, one of Beijing’s old settlements, with time to visit with a resident family. Then fly to Yichang to board the deluxe Victoria Anna on the Yangtze.

Day 5 - Cruising / Three Gorges Dam
Visit the Three Gorges Dam before our ship enters the 5-stage ship locks of the Dam. As the ship continues upstream through Xiling Gorge, entertainment and educational lectures are offered on-board. Meals B,L,D

Day 6 - Cruising / Shennong Stream / Three Gorges
You’ll disembark for small motor boats to journey up Shennong Stream, one of the most scenic of the Yangtze’s tributaries before transferring to smaller wooden sampans to explore even farther upstream. Then cruise through dramatic Wu Gorge and Qutang Gorge, the narrowest and most spectacular of the Three Gorges. Meals B,L,D

Day 7 - Cruising / Fengdu
Today’s tour visits famous Fengdu, the “Ghost City”of ancient temples featuring Chinese mythology. Meals B,L,D

Day 8 - Arrive Chongqing / Fly to Xian
A brief tour includes the Pandas at the Chongqing Zoo before flying to Xian, the ancient capital of China for 13 dynasties. You are staying at the deluxe Sofitel near the city’s ancient walls. Meals B,L

Day 9 - Xian
The Terra Cotta Warriors#WHS# is China’s most important archaeological site, where thousands of life-sized terra cotta warriors and horses have been uncovered. Our visit is in-depth. Meals B,L

Day 10 - Xian / Hong Kong
At the Xian Museum today, you’ll go behind-the-scenes with staff to Touch Antiquity, a rare opportunity to examine ancient relics up to 4,000 years old recently unearthed from nearby tombs. Then off to Hong Kong and transfer to your luxury hotel. Meals B

Day 11 - Hong Kong
Today’s tour covers Hong Kong’s famed cityscape, harbor and Victoria Peak. Later stop at Repulse Bay and enjoy a sampan ride through Aberdeen Fishing Village before visiting bustling Stanley Market. Meals B

Day 12 - Hong Kong
The day is free to explore on your own. You can shop, ride the Star Ferry, or join an optional excursion to visit Lantau Island, and Asia’s largest Buddha. Meals B
